The night of encouragement!!!
When I got to the family worship room at Calvary Chapel St. Pete for prayer before we went out on the streets to witrness Friday night, there were only 3 people there. I was immediately discouraged! I thought… what a nice night, why aren’t there more laborers in the field? They were some really good friends of mine there however. Mike, who goes to the courthouse every week to preach the gospel, and Joshua, our original tractinator, who has recently returned from Patmos.
I was encouraged when one by one as we prayed, God’s solders trickled in to a little bigger army of 14 by the time we were done. Like any one in a band of solders, I looked around and I thought, it’s a good crew, a good mix of God’s people who made themselves available to whatever the night might bring. (more…)
One of the biggest battles in an evangelist walk is discouragement. As I have surfed secular television and read secular books, the blinded world out there seems oh so large. The mountains are tall and I am just me. The weight of the unbelief seems to fall on me like a ton of bricks.
